Environmental factors relate to how a company manages its interaction with the natural environment, including resource use, emissions, climate-related risks, and environmental impacts that may affect long-term operational resilience.
Our Philosophy
At Amundi Alpha Associates, we recognise the importance of addressing climate change through our ESG strategy. Reducing our own carbon footprint is an ongoing effort, supported by practical steps such as limiting non-essential business travel and improving our waste management practices in the office.
When constructing our client portfolios, an assessment of the environmental practices of portfolio fund managers plays a key role in our ESG due diligence process. All short-listed portfolio fund managers are required to complete an ESG due diligence questionnaire, which includes questions concerning the management company's ability to monitor and measure GHG emissions, as well as any climate commitments that the management company has made.
Our long-standing relationships with our managers enable us to gather consistent, reliable data annually, helping to build a track record that informs better decision-making and enhances our ability to evaluate progress. In doing so, we aim to set a foundation that will allow us to gather more meaningful, measurable results in the future.
